Pecan Whiskey Old Fashioned

This one sounded much better than it was.  The Pecan Whiskey fought with the orange flavor and frankly, an Old Fashioned is just that, an Old Fashioned. My suggestion, use some good whiskey (The Quiet Man made an awful fine Old Fashioned on the river one time, ok, a couple times) and stick to tradition.

 This recipe is mixed in the glass, so one drink.

 1 Sugar Cube

2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters

1 SMALL splash of club soda

2 shots Pecan Whiskey (use a good whiskey)

I Large Ice Cube (or a couple regular ones)

Orange Peel

Place sugar cube in a high ball glass.  Splash with bitters.  Add the club soda and swirl it in the glass to cover the lower third with sugar.  Add whiskey, ice, and then twist the orange peel over the drink and drop it in.  Stir gently with a spoon.  Now reflect on life and the state of the world. Or not.
